Who is Allah?

Imagine standing under a vast, starry sky, feeling the breeze on your face, and wondering: Who created all of this? Who sustains it? Who am I in relation to the One who made me?

The Quran is an open invitation to answer these questions, to know Allah—not as a distant, abstract force, but as the Most Merciful, the All-Knowing, the Ever-Present. Let’s dive into the Quran and discover who Allah is, in His own words.

Allah is the One and Only: Unique and Beyond Comparison

Have you ever tried to describe something so magnificent that words fail you? That’s Allah. He is beyond human imagination, yet He describes Himself to us in ways we can grasp:

Allah is Al-Ahad—the One and Only. No partners, no rivals, no equals. He is the source of everything, yet He depends on nothing.

There is nothing like Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

Think about it: nothing in creation—no person, no object, no idea—can compare to Him.

Allah is closer to you than your jugular vein

You know that feeling when you’re alone, and it feels like no one truly understands you? The Quran reminds us:

Allah isn’t far away in some distant heaven. He is closer to you than your own breath, nearer than your thoughts. He knows your struggles, your fears, and your deepest secrets.

Allah’s infinite mercy

The Quran paints a breathtaking picture of Allah’s mercy. He is Ar-Rahman—the Most Merciful—whose compassion embraces everything in existence. In His own words: My mercy encompasses all things. And it doesn’t stop there—He declares, "He has written mercy upon Himself". This isn’t just mercy; it’s a promise, a guarantee, and an open invitation. No matter how far you’ve wandered, His mercy is always within reach.

Allah is the First and the Last: The Eternal One

Have you ever wondered about eternity? About what existed before time and what will remain after it ends? Allah is the answer:

Allah has no beginning and no end. He was there before the universe began, and He will remain when it’s gone.

Allah is the Light of the Heavens and the Earth

In a world that often feels dark and confusing, Allah is the ultimate source of light and guidance:

Allah’s light isn’t just physical; it’s spiritual. It’s the clarity that cuts through confusion, the hope that dispels despair, and the guidance that leads you home.

Allah is the Creator and Sustainer of All Things

Look around you. The sun, the moon, the trees, the oceans—every detail of creation points to Allah’s power and care.

Allah didn’t just create the universe and walk away. He sustains it every moment. He is the reason your heart beats, the reason the stars shine, and the reason you exist.

Allah is Always Watching, Always Listening

Even in your most private moments, Allah is with you.

Allah is always aware of your actions, your words, and your intentions. It’s to remind you that you’re never alone. He sees your struggles, hears your prayers, and is always ready to respond.

Allah is beyond Human Perception, yet He sees everything

Have you ever tried to imagine what Allah looks like?

We can’t see Allah in this world, but He sees everything—every movement, every thought, every hidden detail. His knowledge is perfect, and His presence is undeniable, even if He remains beyond our sight.

The Quran is more than a book—it’s a conversation with Allah. Through its verses, He introduces Himself to us, revealing His names and His attributes. He is the Creator, the Sustainer, the Merciful, the Forgiver, the Protector, and so much more. He is closer to you than your jugular vein.

So, take a moment. Reflect on these verses. Let them remind you of who Allah is. Whether you’re seeking guidance, forgiveness, or peace, know that Allah is always there for us.
